Heading home from class late one evening, Anthony Smith accidentally became the first customer rescued by a new electric vehicle-charging panel Oklahoma Gas and Electric installed at an OnCue Express in the Yukon area.
Smith had recently bought a 2012 Nissan Leaf electric vehicle and was still getting used to it.
“I was driving home, and it started beeping at me, telling me I had only four miles left of range,” said Smith, an assistant professor of business administration at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City. “I was freaking out, but I had enough to get here.”
