There was one big winner to emerge from Tuesday night’s $1.6 billion Mega Millions lottery drawing, but at least two Oklahomans came away with some big winnings of their own, including one in Norman.

According to Oklahoma Lottery officials, a $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold at an OnCue in Norman. A $100,000 ticket was sold in Guymon.

On Wednesday, lottery officials confirmed that a South Carolina resident won the Mega Millions drawing, netting a roughly $1.6 billion prize — the largest lottery jackpot ever to date. The previous worldwide record was a $1.58 billion Powerball jackpot in 2016.

Mega Millions reported that 36 second prize tickets (matching every ball except the Mega Ball) were sold to winners across many states. With the exception of second-place winners in Texas and Florida who matched an optional multiplier, those winners will receive a $1 million prize.

The jackpot for the next Mega Millions drawing will reset to $40 million. The next drawing is Friday.

Officials with Oklahoma Lottery announced Thursday morning that two winning Powerball Lottery tickets were sold in Oklahoma. According to officials, a $100,000 winning ticket was sold at Dizzy B’s in Guymon and a $50,000 winning ticket was sold at OnCue in Norman.

No one matched all the Powerball numbers during Wednesday night’s drawing, so the jackpot has climbed to a staggering $750 million, Powerball officials said.

The Wednesday night Powerball lottery numbers were: 56-53-45-21-3 with a Powerball of 22. The Power Play number, which multiplies all winnings except for the jackpot, was 2.
