Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I see Phillips 66 signage at stores that previously didn’t have it?

Although we have worked with Phillips 66 for over 20 years, we recently entered into a partnership with them that allows us to sell fuel with the “Top Tier” classification and maintain the same pricing philosophies our customers have enjoyed in the past.

The fuel we have been selling is very high quality and backed by the OnCue No Hassle Guarantee. The fuel we sell now has the same guarantee, plus gives our customers the peace of mind that the fuel they purchase is the highest quality the industry has to offer. “Top Tier” is not a status we could have achieved on our own, and we are excited to be among the “Top Tier” elite.

Our partnership with Phillips 66 also gives us the opportunity to offer exciting promotions and incentives. For example, if you use a Phillips 66 card to pay for your fuel, you have the opportunity to earn cents back. Please visit Phillips 66 Rewards for specific details and information on their reward program terms.

We appreciate your business and are excited to sell “Top Tier” gasoline.

Why is Top Tier Detergent Gasoline important?

When you buy Quality Guaranteed Gasoline at OnCue, you know you are filling your tank with Top Tier Detergent Gasoline that has three times more detergent additive than the minimum required by the EPA. There are many gasoline retailers in the market that sell fuels with lower-quality additive packages, which can build up deposits on fuel injectors and intake valves. Another issue is intake valve sticking that can be caused by the buildup of deposits in combustion chambers.  Overall, the lower levels of additives can have negative impacts on engine performance and the responsiveness of your vehicle.

Seven of the world's top automakers—BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi—developed this type of gasoline when they recognized that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.

To be certified as Top Tier, a gasoline must pass a series of performance tests that demonstrate specified levels of: 1) deposit control on intake valves; 2) deposit control on fuel injectors; 3) deposit control on combustion chambers; 4) prevention of intake-valve sticking.

These top automakers recommend that their vehicles be filled with Top Tier gasoline, and OnCue Quality Guaranteed gasoline exceeds their requirements. This means that our customers maximize mileage by using our Top Tier detergent gasoline, which actually cleans your engine while you drive.

I use a debit/credit card, is there a hold placed on my card?

If you use a credit or debit card at the pump, the bank that issues your card may place a hold on your account that may exceed the purchase amount.

This hold is usually released when the completed transaction is received by the issuing bank, but the release of the hold may take a few hours or several days, depending on the bank’s policy or practice. For more information regarding your bank’s policies, call the customer service number on the back of your card.

If you wish to avoid having a hold placed on your account, you may pay inside.

Why do I need to input my zip code when I use a credit card?

We are helping to fight credit card fraud and identity theft and you may be asked to enter your zip code. If the zip code is entered incorrectly or is from outside the USA, you may be asked to see the attendant to complete your purchase. Your zip code information will not be used for marketing purposes.

How secure are your pumps?

It’s important to know how you are protected when filling up at the pump. The issue of skimmers and identity theft is an industry-wide problem. At OnCue, we are committed to making our stores a safe place for our customers. We have numerous measures in place to help us achieve this goal. We can’t discuss everything in order to maintain that level of safety, but for starters, our locations are bright, well-lit, high traffic facilities that have an large number of security cameras on site. We aggressively install all new technologies, and we have almost finished our latest update to be EMV compliant, meaning we feature chip readers on all of our pumps for a more secure payment process.

We also have pressure sensitive seals on all of our pumps that must be replaced anytime a pump is opened. We have initiated a rigorous training and inspection program for our employees to educate them on these issues.

Pump alarms are another way we prevent skimmers. If someone were to tamper with the doors of the pumps, a silent alarm would be triggered, alerting the appropriate parties, and the pump would automatically be disabled.

As a customer, if you are at a gas pump and you go to insert your credit card, make sure the card reader doesn’t look loose. If it does look funny or something doesn’t look quite right to you, report it immediately to an employee.

We always encourage people to come experience the OnCue difference. We believe this holds true from our customer service, product selection, Top Tier Fuel, and especially when it comes to making you and your loved ones feel safe when you go to fill up.
